HOW TO REGISTER

To register, click this link: http://www.mycomics.de/user/register

You arrive at a 2-field-page.
In the first field, enter the username you wish to use in mycomics.de.
In the second field, type in your email address.

Then click the square choice-field (see image below) - that’s to confirm the general guidelines, which basically are that you keep the rights to all works, and that you don’t upload violent / unproper content.

Next, click the button "Registrieren" at the bottom (= "register"). You will receive a registration mail with a link. If you follow the link, you return to the myComics-registrations page. Click "Anmelden" (="log in"). Now you are logged in.

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR PROFILE

How to include a profile picture, your homepage/blog link, and a bio
Also: how to change your password

You arrive at your profile page. In the first part of it, you see a default-profile picture.

Next to it is this settings-field:

- Click "Einstellungen bearbeiten" to change your password or to upload a profile image, the field is directly under your E-Mai-Adress:

To change your password, enter the new password in both upper lines, then click "Speichern" at the bottom of the page.

To upload a profile image, click the "Durchsuchen"-button. Profile pictures should have a size of max.85x85 pixel.
Click "Speichern" at the bottom of the page to upload the image.

HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR OWN COMICS

Click the orange arrow button on the upper right side ("Comic hochladen" = "upload Comic")

You arrive at the upload formular. In the first step, enter the title of the comic, author name, artist name, and type of comic. For multiple authors and artists, seperate names with comma (name, name).

Make sure to also select the type of comic ("Themenbereich") by clicking on the drop-down menu. The correct selection is especially important for Cartoons and for Mangas, as they appear in seperate areas on the front page. When in doubt which category to choose, take the last one "Andere" (="Other")

Comic Infos

The next step is about the comic format:

First, mark the first field under "Comic Infos" (this is to agree to the general guidelines for the comic,which basically are that you keep the rights to all works, and that you don’t upload violent / unproper content.)

If you want to take part in contest with your comic, mark the second field, too.

Then enter the comic type by clicking on the drop-down menu "Comictyp"
- "Einseiter" = 1-page comic or cartoon
- "Leseprobe" = excerpt of a longer work
- "Kompletter Comic" = complete comic

Then, enter a very short description of your comic (this is for list views of comics), and a short description (this will appear underneath your comic)

Now, 3 more comic details / parameters:

- If your comic is formatted in double pages that are to appear next to each other, then mark the first button.
- Usually, the first page is a right page. If your first page is a left page, mark the second field.
- If your comic has a cover, mark the third field, to display the cover page as single page.

Uploading teaser image + comic pages

In the next step, you upload your files:

1)  A teaser image ("Teaserbild") for the mycomics-start page, and the comic lists. The teaser image needs to be exactly 140 x 100 pixel. Click "Durchsuchen" to select file, then "Upload".

2) The comic pages

Comic pages should have a size of 900 to 1200 pixels width, (height accordingly), and the definition of 160-200 dpi. Allowed are jpg, jpeg, png and gif-files. Please stick to plain letters and numbers in the filenames.

You can upload as many comic pages as you want, yet there is a size limit of 8MB per page, and of 40 MB for the complete comic.

To upload, click the "Comics hochladen" button, then select a file. The file will be uploaded, and appears as a bar with icon. Now, upload the next file. You can re-sort the files with the front arrow signs.

Publish

After you uploaded all pages, and arranged them in the correct sorting, click "Speichern" (at the bottom).

You also have the option to save all settings for the next comic (especially recommended when you are working on a series with returning format.) To do that, mark the field above "Speichern", as in the example screenshot:

Clicking "Speichern" (="save") will save all settings and files, and publish your comic. The teaser and link to the comic will appear on the start page: http://www.mycomics.de. 

If you click "save", and you receive a red error message on top of the page, then the formula is missing some necessary content. You don't have to fill out all fields, the fields that need content are:

- Titel ("Titel")
- Type of Comic ("Themenbereich")
- Author ("Autor")
- Artist ("Zeichner")
- Comics short description ("Kurzinfo")
- Comic description ("Inhaltsangabe")
- Teaser image ("Teaserbild")
- Comic page ("Comics hochladen")

Adjustments after publication

You can adjust your comic after publication. To  adjust the comic, click "Bearbeiten" in the top row of the displayed comic, and remember to save any changes with "Speichern".
